The materials are beyond appreciated and have become invaluable in my library/makerspace. Upon receiving the sensory tools I set up an area near the entrance and main reading spot in the library and plugged in the jellyfish lamp and the sound machine projector. Every student who has come into my room has been so excited for these tools and has commented about how much they love having them in here. They've also been absolutely loving having the stretchy bands, Needo cubes, and the sound tubes to help them stay focused or for them to take a sensory break. \r\n\r\nOur special needs students who I was most excited to get these items for have been noticeably calmer and have really enjoyed using the fidgets and looking at the lights. Now that I have the outlet tower I can have multiple students plug their Chromebooks while sitting at the work table. \r\n\r\nThe wireless mice are so appreciated by the students! The students more often then not have a lot of trouble dragging on the touchpad and the new mice are making a huge difference. The few well-loved copies we had left were falling apart or missing pages, so receiving a shipment of brand-new titles felt like a true gift. The students were so eager, they began pulling books off my desk to read before I even had a chance to catalog them! Watching our youngest readers gather on the floor, sharing stories and laughing together, has been a heartwarming sight.\r\n\r\nWe kicked off the school year with The Pigeon Has to Go to School!, and it's already a favorite. The students can't get enough of the pigeon's antics, and the book has opened up important conversations about being nervous or new—emotions many of them are experiencing right now. Mo Willems' storytelling has provided not just entertainment, but comfort and connection for our classroom community.\r\n\r\nThe joy in their eyes when they read these books is something truly special.
