My students need an iPad, projector, and a document camera to aid in instruction, which will give me the ability to reach all of my first graders and their different learning styles.

My Students
My first grade students are amazing! I teach an inclusive classroom, were many of my students are English Language Learners and have recently moved to this country. They are funny, sweet, energetic, and are eager to learn. My students come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and very have diverse needs. Many of students come from challenging living situations and low-income households; however, they still come to school with big smiles on their faces despite the many hardships that they endure.
My Project
Students in my first grade class will be using this technology during various platforms throughout our day. Students will use the iPad during literacy centers to help increase fluency, comprehension, and listening skills. The iPad will also help my English Language Learners to listen to and read stories in their native languages, as well as to preview stories and vocabulary before it will be taught in a whole group lesson. The projector and document camera will be used in the classroom to to help aide in direct instruction, sharing student work, and projecting documents and videos from the iPad.
The first graders in my classroom are talented and have strong passion to learn; however, our school is equipped with very limited technology, which does not allow my students to engage in current learning practices.
Providing technology into my classroom will allow my students the opportunity to access first grade curriculum using 21st century technology and learning techniques. Having this technology will also allow my students to gain basic technology skills, which will allow them to be successful in years to come. Lastly, these resources will allow me to differentiate the Common Core learning standards to meet the needs of each student in my classroom.
