Imagine your life without your computer, tablet, mp3 player, or smart phone. What if you never knew these materials were available? My students deserve to have access to the technology around them.
My students are a bunch of inquisitive, and knowledge seeking 4 & 5 year olds who want to learn about the world around them.
Due to their environmental conditions many of my students have never been out of their city, yet yearn to travel to other places.
My students strive to overcome so many obstacles each and every day due to the environmental, and socioeconomic situations that they have no control over. I provide a nurturing environment for students who have many different abilities in an inclusion classroom. Due to the urban community and the struggles that it faces, funding is very limited and many times non-existent.
I strive each and everyday to provide my students with the tools to show them that the world is more than just their community.
My Project
Having an interactive projector in my classroom will open up the world to my students who may otherwise have no other way to see the world around them. My students are growing up in a tech-savvy world without the ability to participate in it.
Because of my students' background many of my students do not know of the opportunities that are available to them. I want to give my students the same opportunities that other students their age have.
Learning is much more than call and response and drill; through the use of an interactive projector I would be able to provide my students with a learning tool that will allow them to embrace learning in a new way. My students will not only be able to explore the world around them that they might otherwise not be able to see, but also learn through different mediums where they can grow and blossom in ways that as a teacher I love to see.
My students deserve the absolute best in an unjust world.
They cannot control the hand that they have been dealt, however it is my duty to give my students all the tools that are available. These tools can be the window to the world and knowledge that my students deserve. Please help my students learn to their full potential.
