Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In the year 2014 technology drives our educational system. In our class, we are attempting to partake in this revolution by engaging in multimedia projects that will make students fluent in the common language that brings our world together-technology!

Our school community has a lot of heart, but is low on funds.

We have a supportive school community that cares for the well being of every student and her/his needs, but we simply lack the technology to help our students become the leaders in the technological revolution that education is undergoing. Students are expected to be technologically savvy, but we don't have the basic resources needed to be successful and prepared to face a modern world that we currently live in. My students are eager to learn, curious, and creative. They are loving 7th and 8th graders who work hard and simply need support to be able to express their talents to the world. I want to provide them with the basic tools and allow their creativity to do the rest!

My Project

I want to make my class as technologically savvy as possible by the end of this school year. I would love for them to have first hand experience with creating multimedia projects based on their learning in my English Language Arts class. An LCD projector will allow my students to easily share PowerPoint presentations, create videos, podcasts, graphic art, web sites and share their work with the rest of the school community. In addition, being able to orally present will allow my students to become confident public speakers that feel proud of their multimedia creations as well as be able to master important Common Core standards.

This is your opportunity to support an inspirational group of students who are determined to lead and succeed in modern society.

Being literate in technology will allow students to truly be part of the 21st century and prepare them for college and the work force. An LCD multimedia projector will allow my students to experience these things first hand. I will be able to teach my students technological skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.
