Technology of Tomorrow: 3D Printer Inspires Creativity
My students need a 3D printer and 7 rolls of filament to learn about the exciting technology of tomorrow so that they'll be ready for it when it becomes a norm in every classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I would like my students (especially the girls) to be exposed to the technology of tomorrow. Not many students have access to 3D printers at their schools. I would like my students to use their creativity to model their inventions on Google Sketch up and bring them to life using the 3D printer.
My school is a Title 1 school, meaning that a lot of the students are of low income.
My students are motivated and eager to learn new and exciting things. There is a wide range of technological skills within my students, however, it is great seeing them working together and helping each other to complete their projects.
My Project
Students will use Google Sketchup to create 3D models of different objects. By having the 3D printer and filaments, it will allow them to test their creations and see if they work as intended. In addition, I hope that it will motivate them think about a career in engineering or a job in the technology field.
This project will help improve my classroom by exposing my students to and important technology of tomorrow.
As 3D printers become more mainstream, they will have some experience using them that will help them have a head start with this technology.
