The knowledge my students have of today's technology astounds me! In our classroom we have a small iPad lab that we are constantly using. From our literacy and math centers to creating fun projects, my students are begging to use the iPads every chance they get!
My students are an amazing group of second graders.
We live in a small rural town in Utah and we lack the technology that many places around us have. We don't even have computers in our classroom. However, we have been lucky enough to have a small iPad lab donated to our classroom. As I have watched my students use these iPads it has been amazing to see what can be done with an iPad. My students are always showing me how I can better use them in our classroom!
We have already created some pretty incredible projects on them. Students have brought their stories to life and they have made informative slide shows about our school on them. My students are constantly practicing math facts, reading books and researching favorite topics on them. The possibilities are endless!
My Project
With two more iPads in our classroom we could do so much more! Looking at the projects my students have already completed, it has been amazing to see what they are capable of! One big project we always complete in 2nd grade is an animal report. I am so excited to be able to use our iPads this year to research animals and create projects.
Two more iPads would allow more students to be working on an iPad at a time, allowing more work to be accomplished and giving us the opportunity to create even more! My students are capable of so much and I know learning the skills to use this amazing technology can help them achieve whatever they put their minds to!
As a teacher, it is my responsibility to give my students every opportunity that I can to help them grow.
I have seen the amazing things that can be done with the technology we have today and I want my students to have that knowledge as well. Technology is all around us; I want my students to use today's technology to help them accomplish their goals. I want them to know how technology can be a source of education in their lives.
