Ugh, we ran out! I don't want to hear that coming from any of my students.
I serve twenty-four, kindergarten students who love learning, and live in the heart of the Appalachian mountains of Kentucky.
My students are bright, energetic, and fun-loving. They are at a critical stage in their lives, the beginning stages of reading.
My Project
I'm requesting the basics materials to keep our technology activities and projects going. There is nothing more frustrating to them than to be in the middle of a task and find themselves without the materials to complete it.
I am requesting batteries which will allow my students to continue their reading through their Leapfrog Tag Readers, and also continue their word wall fluency activities using their Hot Dot pens. My students will be able to continue their phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, word attack, comprehension skills, and love for reading with the resources I am requesting. In addition, the computer paper and ink cartridges will enable my students to have their certificates of completion and results in reading and math printed.
Finally, the laminating pouches and binding combs allows for preservation of work. Students collect shared readings throughout the year, and one of the best ways to preserve it is to bind it into a book or laminate knowing it will be protected for years to come.
By donating to this project, my students will not have the concerns of their batteries running out during reading, or whether there is enough ink to print their certificate results from their reading activities.
Nor will they be concerned about having combs and laminating pouches to protect their work. Please be a part of giving the gift of basic supplies.
