Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at our school are a wide variety of curious learners. Many of our students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds that do not have the opportunity to have access to the resources that they need in order to be 21st-century learners. The students at our school range between gifted students to second language learners and even exceptional education.
The students at our school do not have the technological resources in order to compete with other 21st century learners of our time.
These students are eager to work with the latest technology in order to grasp simple and complex topics. Students such as these need to be challenged and aided to be able to be more successful in life as well as academically.
My Project
My students need a place to charge and store their tablets. Through DonorsChoose, we have been able to secure a class set of tablets. However, storing and charging is an issue. Currently we store them in a milk crate and can only charge 5 at a time with a charging strip. We need the capability to charge them all at once. This way when one class finishes, we can charge them all at once for the next group of incoming students. Also, we need a secure place for storing our tablets for safety. We are also requesting 3 additional tablets to add to our class set along with 5 headphones to use at our desktop computer stations.
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Mrs. Vizcaino and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
