This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in a low-income area and resources for them are hard to come by. These students all have special needs and funding is not always available for all the materials they need.
For this project, we're looking for 5 Chromebooks for our students with special needs.
Technology is a resource that most of my students do not have access to. Not having access means they are not able to complete assignments, do research or even send an email to a friend.
My Project
Technology is severely lacking at our school. We are a Title I school with a very limited budget. My students with special needs need access to technology for many reasons like research, college and career planning, and access to assessments and curriculum. With the technology in their hands the world will open up for them. Many have no internet access at home or even a computer to use to type up homework or assignments. There are so many uses for these Chromebooks! Even just learning basic typing and word processing skills would make such a huge difference. All I want is for my students to have the same chance that any other student has.
