My Students
My students are eager 4th graders who are excited to learn. I teach Language Arts to 46 4th grade students in Cumberland County, NJ. We are a Title 1 school. We live in the poorest county in NJ. Despite having the odds against them, my students have the hunger to learn. They come to school everyday ready to learn. My students are achieving at below grade level and above grade level. As their teacher, I want all of my students to be able to succeed.
My Project
I am requesting two Chromebooks for my 4th grade Language Arts classroom. My students would be able to use the chrome books to write their stories. The students would also be able to use the chrome books to prepare for the PARCC test that they take in May. Many of the students do not have access to computers at home,so when they have to take the state test on computer it can be very overwhelming for them. The Chromebooks in the classroom would also give the students who are performing below grade is level a way for them to listen to their stories.
