My students need 9 Chromebooks, 8 consoles, and 3 headphones to complement the technology we have and to meet the technology standards in our 2nd grade curriculum.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A typical day in my classroom follows a daily schedule covering all subjects. We focus on weekly skills like phonics and math strategies. Google Chromebooks would give us another resource to help strengthen our literacy and math skills. By the end of the year, we will be experts in reading and math!
My students are spunky, silly, and so excited to learn every day.
The kids enjoy computer time and the ability to learn through the use of computer games and reading activities. We are a Title 1 school which means our kids are from lower income families, but they come to school each day prepared to learn and have fun. We call ourselves a family because we are together the majority of the week.
My Project
Our class needs Google Chromebooks, consoles, and headphones to complement the technology we have in our classroom. We would use the computers for our math and reading games through Successmaker. Successmaker helps every learner become more successful by adapting to each learner's needs in reading and math. The kids know how to use technology and are experienced enough to use Successmaker in the classroom as an "All Done" activity when they finish all their required work and unfinished work.
With Google Chromebooks in the classroom, my kids will become 21st century learners.
They will expand their knowledge in math as well as improve reading fluency and foundational skills. The Google Chromebooks will prepare students for the future by strengthening their technology skills.
