This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school in an inner city of a major city in Florida. A lot of my students lack access to technology in their homes including the Internet. I would like to use an IPad to help overcome some of their barriers to receiving a quality education.
I have a diverse group of students coming from many cultures and ethnic groups.
The majority of our students are on free and reduced lunch. Our school also have a high number of students who second language is English. A lot of our students lack access to commonly used technology of this generation.
My Project
The Ipad will allow my students to translate between their native language and English easily when dealing with new vocabulary. It will also allow their to interact with new mathematical concepts in a 3D dimension that they otherwise would not have access to.
As a teacher I see how students struggle with mathematical concepts due to not being able to understand the basic vocabulary involved in learning the concepts.
This Ipad would help resolve this issue and allow them access to a higher level of understanding.
