This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My physics students are incredibly gifted and motivated. This generation has the amazing opportunities to learn and instantly make an impact in the school and community.

With the right tools available, my students have the capacity and character to become future innovators and leaders.

One of the rewards of being their teacher is being able to see how they can learn a concept and add their own creativity and ingenuity to develop an amazing product. I am often impressed with their ideas.

My Project

iPads are one of the most dynamic pieces of equipment available. There are numerous apps that allow for data collection and scientific investigation that are beneficial for physics learning. Most recently we needed iPads to record slow motion video of projectiles to analyze the physics of the trajectory. We've also used an app on iPads to measure sound loudness. We had no other piece of equipment that could measure sound in decibels. These are just two examples of countless ways that allow for a better way for STEM students to use tools in ways that will be useful to them not only in the Physics classroom but also in endeavors beyond the classroom.
