My Students

Our school strives to equip each student to rise to their potential nest! Each student has gifts, ideas, and strengths. Often they just need a little something that activates their excitement for learning. The students in my class seek to be safe, responsible, respectful and ready to learn. They recognize that we are part of a classroom community where we can support each other and learn together.

"What I do matters."

This is something we say, as a class, every day. We recognize that our actions, words and ideas affect others--positively and sometimes negatively. It is my desire to help each student find the confidence in themselves to realize, "What I do matters BECAUSE I have something to offer to make it better."

Helping students harness their confidence and helping them develop higher order thinking skills to put their ideas into action are critical for their future success. Knowledge is at the tip of our fingertips or at the call of our voice. But what we do with that knowledge, how we innovate and shape it into ideas has to be developed starting now.

My Project

With the increase in the use of technology in the classroom and virtually, access to functional and reliable technology is a must. This will enable my students to have access to software and apps required by my district that will help students learn and grow. These programs allow students to practice essential math, reading, science, and social studies skills that they need to help them succeed. With lower budgets due to the pandemic, we are left with very old, barely functional desktops that don't even run these programs or iPads that are too old to update.
