This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in a low socioeconomic where 100% of the students receive free lunch. My class is very diverse; it consists of Latin and Asian English Learners including Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodians and Filipinos.
Even when faced with many challenges both at home and at school, my students are always enthusiastic and eager to learn.
There are many different living arrangements and family structures within my students' families. They are scholars who understand the importance of hard work, perseverance and they always try their best to reach their goals. Their parents are eager and will do all they can to try to give their children the very best education possible at home but they also rely on our school and our teachers to help fulfill their American Dream since they spend most of their time working to provide for the family.
My Project
My students are in desperate need of more technology in our classroom. They need an iPad Pro to further their knowledge in the STEM areas. With this iPad Pro, we can download Science, Math, Reading and Writing apps and search websites to further our understanding of the lessons. They will also be watching educational videos that will reinforce the theme/unit we are learning.
Technology is the foundation of learning in the 21st Century, with this iPad Pro, my students will have an opportunity to extend their knowledge and skills that will prepare them for college and their career.
This iPad Pro will enhance powerful learning in the classroom and will empower and encourage great thinkers. These apps will be the bridge that connects my lessons to what they will learn in the programs.
