My students need the 2 pieces of Tiggly software along with the Fisher-price iPad case to improve literacy and math skills all while using technology and a hands-on approach.
My typical day in my classroom involves teaching the children self-help skills, cognitive skills to get the older students ready for Kindergarten, working on teaching appropriate social-emotional skills, and making sure to do all of this through play-based learning.
My students range from as young as just turned 3 years old to as old as just turned 5, therefore I have a lot of different social, cognitive, and physical levels in my room.
They also come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and don't always have access to many materials in their home environment, nor do they always have someone to spend the quality educational time with them.
My Project
My students will use all the materials to advance their math and literacy skills. I chose to do that by using technology because in this day and age, technology is always around us and most students are always interested in being able to use iPads. The 2 pieces of Tiggly software, along with the Fisher-price iPad case, will provide even more of a hands-on approach than just the typical iPad apps that are available for young children.
This project will make a difference in my classroom because it will provide my students with a different approach to learning those basic math and literacy skills involved in Pre-K.
As we know, all students learn in diverse ways, and this will give them another opportunity that is different than the typical counting and pre-reading activities.
