Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from challenging environments where aggression is often the answer to many problems. Some of my students have home, community, and other issues. Some of them have trouble interacting appropriately with one another, teachers, and administrators. These students have sometimes gone through some type of trauma, a divorce, or been the victims of abuse or neglect. Our district offers 100% free lunch for all students.

My students come from high crime and poverty-stricken areas.

Basic necessities are not often a given. My students often feel as if no one notices them or acknowledges their positive behavior, only the negative. My students need multiple opportunities to learn and be successful in many different ways. Academics are the only way to make a difference in their lives.

My Project

My Students need a chrome book that they can check out and take home to complete their classwork and homework. Most of my students do not have a computer at home to complete their assignments and they are not able to stay after school due to a lack of transportation. This chrome book will serve as an asset for the majority of my students and parents.

The parents can also use the chrome book to help register their children in school and view their children progress in school.

A lot of our students start school late because their parents do not have asset to a computer nor transportation to complete registration. This will be used to assist students and parents.
