Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to our classroom! I teach at an amazing Title I school in Phoenix, Arizona. I am so lucky to have an amazing, smart, energetic group of first graders. My students are eager to learn new things and succeed. We take pride in all of our hard work, and we have fun while doing it!
My students come from many different backgrounds, cultures and neighborhoods!
Our classroom is a place where students can work together to solve problems, make new friends and enjoy school! We have established a strong first grade family and a safe place where all are welcome and excited to learn, to try new things, and to work hard to achieve their goals.
We engage in lots of hands-on and engaging cooperative learning activities to keep us eager and motivated to learn. Every day is a new adventure with our class, and I love watching them grow while we laugh, learn, and have fun together!
My Project
It is amazing to see that even 5- and 6-year-olds are eager to learn when they interact with technology like Chromebooks and the SMART board projector.
Having this technology in my classroom will allow us to practice fundamental reading skills, complete assessments digitally, research topics more in depth, and extend our math knowledge by interacting with engaging websites.
All this technology will make a huge difference in my students' learning because of the endless opportunities they will have to interactively engage to extend their learning!
The laminator will help preserve our reading and math centers and small group materials so that we can reuse materials over and over without them getting damaged. Laminating puts that finishing touch to all materials which my class and I love!
