This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology is the new learning curve. Students who have access to computers and the Internet are at a higher advantage than those who don't. With only 3 student computers in our classroom, we need more computers to give each child a fair chance at success. We also need ink for our classroom printer.

My students come from a low income household, where not ever child has Internet access at home.

We try to accommodate those students to our best abilities. They are very sweet students who will tell me daily how much they love reading. I hope to keep this love of reading intact throughout the school year. My school is also located in a low income area and many of the parents do not speak English.

My Project

The students will be using the two laptops as well as the tablet in class for preparations in I-Ready. This program will get them ready for all they need to master in the 3rd grade. Having only 3 classroom computers, we need all the help we can get to make sure that every student has a chance to succeed. Not only will the students be using it for I-ready, but they will also be able to read On-line books for AR as well as complete research projects. The ink will be used in class to print out worksheets for struggling students as well as worksheets to enhance advanced students.

My project will make a difference because it will show students that when they put forth the effort success is attainable.

They will also use the technology to enhance their learning, thus enhancing their chances at a better tomorrow. At the same time, it will teach students responsibility to take care of the equipment.
