My students need privacy partitions so that distractions can be minimized. The Chromebook will allow for more flexible technology based learning in the class.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in fifth grade gifted and/or the 5th grade Extended Foreign Language program. They come from warm and caring families. Two-thirds of my students have recently exited the ESOL (English Second Language Learner) program in the past year.
My students are energetic learners that learn best when they are given the opportunity to move and explore different learning settings.
Specifically, they love to express themselves and take an active role in the learning process. In addition, all of my fifth graders are looking forward to applying to a magnet school of their choice at the end of this school year. They are looking forward to challenging themselves even more as they embark on their next educational adventure and I want to send them off ready to accept any challenges that await them.
My Project
These materials will go a long way in making a difference in my students' lives. The privacy boards will make it easier for my students to focus on the work at hand instead of the things going on around them. As a result, they will be more successful academically.
Technology is an important part of today's education and yet, it is so difficult to access in many classes.
By adding a new Chromebook to my class, my students will be able to take technology learning into their own hands by having the flexibility to move about the class and even borrow the Chromebook if they need to.
