Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are truly unique individuals with very creative minds. They love school but face some hardships that most may not at their age which hinders learning at times. They are full of life and love and are very independent individuals. My students come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and bring a lot of flavor to the mix. These differences allow for a phenomenal learning experience for our future leaders of the world making them better prepared to work with teams later in life.

There is so much to know and understand about my students but words cannot fully express the extent of their individuality and hardships.

In order to be able to focus on learning students must have the necessary tools such as; a good meal, clean clothes/good hygiene, a good nights rest, and the school supplies required to learn. Without these tools for success how can we expect them to focus on the task at hand, their clothes may be soiled due to a lack of a washer and dryer, or they are hungry and tired so their stomach is grumbling and they can barely stay awake. These are the struggles our students are facing daily.

My Project

As well all know Math is one of the hardest subjects to teach and to learn. I know from experience when we add in technology it helps fill the gaps. Not everyone learns the same also; providing my students with the tools they need will help ALL of my learners develop at their own pace and take ownership of their growth. Technological advances will give our youth the step ahead they need in this ever so challenging time. It takes a village to raise a child and I’m asking for the villages help. Let us give our youth their tools!!
