My students need iPads for the classroom. They will be listening to stories read aloud to them, read stories online independently, and play review games.

My Students

My school is really focusing on small guided reading groups this year. We are incorporating Daily 5 into our schedules to better meet the needs of struggling readers. IPads would be located in different centers to allow students to read books online and listen to stories read aloud to them.

We are a Title I school, so funding for such things is not possible.

However, my students are eager to learn so I think the iPads will be a great asset to their learning. Most of my students are technology savvy, so spending a great amount time teaching them how to use an iPad will not be needed. Once the iPads are in my classroom, independent learning can occur while I am working with those struggling readers.

My Project

Each iPad will be at a different center in my classroom. One student will be using the iPad to hear a story read aloud to them. Another student will read a book on the iPad. The third student will be using the iPad to play a review game on a topic already taught to them.

Students will become more proficient at technology, while also learning what fluent readers sound like, expanding their knowledge through reading, and reviewing topics they have learned so far this year.
