My Students
The students within my classroom are in 4th and 5th grade and live in and around the Boston area. Our school consists of general education classrooms, inclusion classrooms, and sub-separate classrooms. The students in my classroom are all within a substantially separate classroom with many different diagnosis, mainly autism spectrum disorder. The students in my classroom love to learn through technology which has seemed to be if it their learning tremendously. All of these students have specific needs and continue to need visuals, manipulatives, and other academic supports. Our school district has limit resources and our classroom is looking to update our visuals, our technology, and our materials to meet each of our child's specific needs. All my students come from low income housing in which they do not have access to these materials at home. I would like to provide them with opportunities in school they wont have at home.
My Project
COVID has made technology like ipad a necessity in the classroom. We are extremely limited with the resources we have and this will ensure students are access online material while they are in school. My students will use these for math facts, letter identification, number identification, writing sentences, categories, and other academic skills.
My students are extremely motivated by technology which allows all my students to work to their full potential to access all our learning standards.
Through technology, all of my students can display all their skills and access all activities at their specific levels. This will also allow them access to some of the most popular websites out there for not only learning but for social and emotional growth as well!
