My Students

My students are a very loving, creative, and active group. Most of them come from a very low socioeconomic background and it is my passion to provide them with a safe and fun environment where they can develop a love for learning. I have many students who love to come to school because it provides them with a stable environment where they find love and a good meal. Many of our students take backpacks of food home for the weekend so they will have something to eat. I want my classroom to be a comfortable and fun environment that stimulates their minds and enhances their ability to learn.

I want them to get the same opportunities in life as their classmates and my hope is to provide them with an environment that makes anything possible!

I want to have a lifelong positive impact on my students.

My Project

Technology is no longer a choice, it is a necessity. It is absolutely necessary that our children not only learn how to use technology, but are good at using it. Our children are going to be entering a world where technology is everywhere. It is a way of life and I want my children to be successful.

Our current science curriculum is entirely internet based and I want my children to be able to get the full benefit of the curriculum.

We are currently sharing a Chromebook cart between 4 classes. I want to have technology available in my classroom on a daily basis. It is not a whether our children MAY encounter technology in their careers, but WHEN. Because they absolutely will and when they do I want to know that I did everything possible to prepare them. Most of my students do not have access to a computer or internet outside of school, so I feel it is my responsibility to prepare them.

The Chromebook and Tablet will be used daily in both Math and Science to teach my students the importance of being to able to teach themselves and how to use technology to LEARN! Not only is it important to teach our children how to use technology, but also to be independent and self-sufficient.
