it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help these little students get technology savvy! We love technology, but our special education classroom isn't quite up-to-date!
I teach twelve wonderful and enthusiastic students in grades kindergarten to third grade.
We are in a neighborhood public school, and these neighborhood kids need up-to-date resources. Many of these students are well below grade level in reading or math, and they need much repetition and practice in specific areas to help them succeed!
My Project
A laptop computer would give them access to online reading and math programs, and these programs give them individualized practice with the skills they struggle with most. My students rotate through "centers", which are various reading and math activities. These students absolutely love working at the "computer center", which consists of our classroom laptop and tablet. However, they typically rotate in groups of four, so each child needs to share the computer or tablet. More classroom computers would give my students the opportunity to access programs specific for them.
These students are so enthusiastic about computers, and we would be so grateful if we could start the school year out with a new laptop!
