My Students
My students are from an inner city school which is Title I. They attend a school where 100% of the students receive free lunch, and approximately 40% of the students are homeless. My students are eager to learn about personal finance but face many social and economic obstacles.
Many of my students live in high poverty communities.
This course is designed to give them the knowledge to make good financial decisions. My goal to provide them with the tools and opportunities to match their eagerness to be academically successful.
My Project
My students will use the cameras to record and photograph their learning experiences outside of the classroom. As often as possible, I take my students on field trips to visit historical sites. The Chromebook will allow them to process their pictures and videos while on location. The ink and photo paper will allow them to print photos to share with their parents and peers. The students will then learn to bridge the gap of how the country has evolved since Reconstruction by visiting significant locations within the state and collect evidence of their learning experience. The students will also use the Chromebook to conduct and collect research while on location.
Our students will learn how to use technology to increase learning and make US History more interactive.
