My Students

My school is part of a district that is comprised of 5 preschool through 5th grade schools and two middle schools. We are located in southern Illinois.

My students are a diverse group of students from kindergarten through fifth grade with speech and language delays or disorders.

They have goals that address articulation, receptive and expressive language, social language and executive function skills. The students love coming to the speech room and work hard for the time that they are with me.

My Project

My students have speech and language disorders or delays. Many of my older students are working on their written language skills. They have difficulty putting their thoughts on paper.

My hope is for my students to be able to use the talk to text feature of the Chromebook to help them get their ideas on paper.

Once their ideas are in print it will be easier for them to edit them with the help of myself and their peers in the small group. I feel that using the features on the Chromebook will be a skill that my students will be able to use well into their future.
