This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help open the world of reading to eager young minds! My students want to understand that reading impacts around the world. Our resources are limited and this leaves my students at a disadvantage when developing their understanding of the reading world around them.
My students are sixth grade English language learners.
Their curiosity and hunger for knowledge are tremendous. The majority of my students learn best through hands-on applications of the curriculum standards. They are social, enjoy working in group activities, and are excited about reading to facilitate their learning. They attend an inner-city school where they face real-life challenges in the community.
My Project
I am requesting an Apple iPad Smart Tablet. This tablet will allow my students to access the World Wide Web for educational information such as current events and historical dates and to access an endless number of books. I feel that having these tablets for the classroom will broaden the minds of the students and teach them about using technology as a source of learning. Using the tablets will help prepare the students on how to integrate technology into their everyday lives. My students are always conducting research projects, which call for using resources such as the Internet for vital information.
