I am a Math Interventionist, and I work with students who struggle with or have gaps in their mathematical understanding.
As their teacher, I want to provide opportunities that will prepare them for learning in the twenty-first century.
Collaboration, digital literacy, critical thinking and problem-solving are engaging strategies that inspire and motivate my students to go above and beyond!
My school is made up of over seventy percent free or reduced-price lunch students. The students don't always have access to resources and I want to help. I want to do everything I can to create a contagious enthusiasm for learning that will inspire and motivate students to be all that they can be!
There are a lot of web-based applications that are super helpful and motivating when it comes to student engagement and learning. However, to access these resources, it requires having the technology! My project is going to give students opportunities to interact with technology, both for class-based projects and assignments, but also with applications that are adaptive and individualized to give each student a customized plan for his or her learning.
Students can work in apps to promote fact fluency, solve math problems with writing capabilities, problem-solve with interactive manipulatives, and take charge of their own learning.
The possibilities with the Apple iPad are truly endless! Students will be able to use digital ink to write, sketch, annotate, and highlight during the learning process. The iPad will give my students the opportunity to learn in a way that suits them best and meets their individual needs.
