This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We live in a world where technology is taking over and our students' success rates are always being compared to students who have updated technology that is easily accessible. Unfortunately, our school does not have the resources to provide EACH student with working/dependable laptops. I was provided a computer cart with 18 devices, while that is more than we've ever had, each student does not have a computer of their own to use. On top of that, there are days when the classroom set of computers will work fine and the next day some won't charge. You never know how the day will go when it comes to technology in our school. This situation makes it difficult because there are various lessons and tasks that require the use of technology.
Therefore, my class would greatly benefit from additional, dependable technology.
Our students want to be able to have the chance to be able to compete in today's technology-focused world. Moreover, we are using a district-wide online curriculum, and well without computers, it's difficult for students to do their assigned work.
Our class is also in dire need of an additional printer and toner to print necessary material for classes where there aren't sufficient computers and I have to print out the long pages as well as anchor charts and notes sheets to enhance student learning.
