Do you remember when you first saw modern technology like a computer or large screen TV in your school? Remember how much more you were able to learn from this new technology? Well, my students would like to enhance their education with an ELMO projection camera.
My students are in a 7th and 8th grade special needs classroom in an inner city.
Due to their disabilities, it is sometimes hard to maintain focus for long periods of time. Through modern technology, we are able to increase students' attention span, enhance their education, and bring their education into the 21st century. Unfortunately, due to major budget cuts in our state, the school is lacking the funds to enhance our technology in the classroom!
My Project
The ELMO is a projection camera that will greatly enhance the class' education. Its a revolutionary document camera that's all about sharing, comprehension, and student retention. We currently have a digital projector but this new technology will be used in conjunction with our projector to further enhance our learning. It's an exciting visual technology for the classroom! This is a device that would be used daily with instruction. It has a zoom feature that would be of great benefit to visually impaired students. Adding this item to the classroom instruction would help the students retain more information needed to succeed on state tests and in life!
The ELMO would significantly improve the lives of these struggling students.
It will give them a chance to better retain information and do so in a fun and interactive way. Please consider helping the children of our future. It is through donors like you that our children will succeed!
