This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The use of visual and verbal support is a daily activity in my classroom, especially in speech/language therapy activities. Using the tablet, students have the support they need to succeed. The tablet allows my students to interact with materials and specific apps designed especially for speech/language pathologist to use with students with speech and language impairment. It also provides an easy place for my students to show and share their work when using jam board and Google Classroom. What becomes a problem when using visual support in paper and whiteboards, is the fact that the markers never seem to last, erasers seem to disappear, and the whiteboards and laminated sheets slowly become stained from frequent use.
Students are also more engaged with technology rather than pencil and paper, and they become more focused and motivated to apply strategies learned.
By having a tablet, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!
