My Students

The students that I am lucky enough to have in my classes face many challenges. They have Intellectual disabilities which stop them from accessing the curriculum in a traditional setting. Some have visual impairments others have hearing loss and all struggle to learn in the typical way. Through all of these struggles they persevere and try their best every day with a smile on their face. Sometimes I wonder who teaches whom.

My students face many challenges on a daily basis doing things that we take for granted.

My goal with this project is to try to help make their lives a little easier and help them to reach their full potential.

My Project

My students need a longer period of time to understand how to use technology and email. They require lots of practice and will require the talk to text features on the computer. Often they are easily frustrated when rushed in a library or computer room setting. Having three Chromebooks in the classroom will help to lessen the stress the students feel in a large group setting.

Technology will be an essential part of society that they will need to master to be successful in life.

I would like to be able to assist with the challenge by allowing them access to Technology on a daily basis.
