My Students
In the past we started our day off in our classroom at our elementary school. Unfortunately, that has changed. We now begin our day in a "great room" at a local Baptist church because our school was recently hit by a tornado.
I have 20 wonderful and resilient students!
We are a Title 1 school and have a fairly high poverty rate. We recently had a tornado destroy part of our school and community. I have several students who lost their homes. My room was not hit, therefore, I was not directly affected by the tornado. My students and I however, are indirectly affected.
My Project
Having an iPad readily accessible will allows students the opportunity to strengthen skills independently or in small groups. It allows them to engage in fun activities in various subjects that promote learning and reinforce concepts that have been previously taught.
To have an iPad available in my classroom for student use will give me one more tool to help each struggling learners.
Many of my students do not have computers or iPads at home. Exposing them to this technology will enhance their school experience.
More than half of students from low‑income households
