Technology in the Classroom Can Make a Difference!

My students need iPads to improve the use of technology and provide a new way of visual learning in the classroom.

My Students

A typical day in our classroom is started off by using our student laptops to complete daily reading articles online and reading assignments through our reading programs. Lessons are displayed on the whiteboard by the teacher throughout the day since there is no smartboard available.

I have a total of 24 students in my classroom.

Students become very engaged when they are able to visually see or use technology in the classroom. Our school's vision is to help our students become ethical users of technology which will help prepare them to be college ready. Our school is very driven to help raise money to purchase more technology equipment that will help our students collect information for projects and assignments that require the use of online research and practice.

My Project

With the addition of the iPad to the classroom, students will be provided with a new way to learn and interact with what they are learning. The use of iPads can also allow students to become more tech savvy, preparing them for a world that is saturated in technology. In addition to everyday learning, students will be participating in a Celebrating Results project. With iPads in hand, students will be able to easily photograph labs and record their hard work. They will ultimately be able to display their work in the end on these iPads to parents and visitors when they arrive on Celebration Results Day.

Donations for this project will greatly improve my classroom as it will allow students to become ethical users of technology and expose them to different types of technology.

This exposure will prepare students for a world that embraces technology and lead them to college readiness. Through the classroom, students can learn that technology isn't made simply for games, but can be used for learning and expressing thought in ways that can't be done simply with pen and paper.
