Technology in Math Education

My students need an iPad mini and two cases to help them complete Google application assignments to improve their understanding of math concepts.

My Students

A typical day in the classroom consists of group and individual activities where students discover and use new mathematical concepts with the assistance of technology. With an iPad mini, students are more easily engaged, become problem solvers, and work towards being a successful 21st century learner.

Our school is a place where students can "Bring Your Own Device" and use it with permission throughout the day.

Most students use their personal device daily to check homework, complete assignments, answer higher-level questions, and collaborate on what they know or hope to know. Unfortunately, not all of my students have the same privileges, which is why a couple of extra iPad minis would be so helpful.

My Project

Students would use this iPad mini with a protective case to complete assignments through Google Classroom. This includes the ability to read and respond to math-related articles, submit homework answers/questions, and work on higher-level projects that incorporate real world scenarios. Students can also use this device to solve their own problems. Through the use of provided lesson videos and access to the Internet, students can find the answers to their questions. This iPad will help prepare these students to work and live in the 21st century.

This project will help improve my classroom by enabling students without a device to work and collaborate on the same assignments as their peers.

It will help all students have the same resources and be equally future ready.
