My Students
Do you know what it is like to feel frustrated because you don't understand how to use the new and upcoming technology? As my students grow to be exceptional students I want to give them the opportunity to learn how to use new and upcoming technological skills.
I am teaching at an international school in a low income area in Washington State.
We are a Title I school, trying really hard to provide our students with the resources to succeed. The school has a very diverse group of students with over 20 different languages spoken at home. Most of the students are receiving free or reduced price lunches, and some are homeless and being at school is the only stable place in their lives.
Although many of the students come from a rough home life they are hardworking, intelligent and incredible kids. They make me smile everyday I walk through the school doors.
My Project
We are approaching an era where high school students are using iPads to read their textbooks or do assignments on them. Well high school should not be the first time for students to use them or it will slow down their learning and students may get frustrated. Students need to be introduced to this technology at a younger age in order to succeeded to their fullest potential when they are older.
With this iPad, students will learn how to use the tablet and they will work on typing, be able to play games that are correlated with core standards and also read books! The iPad gives students many new learning strategies that allow them to stay engaged and grow as a learner.
Please help bring the iPad tablet into the classroom.
Hopefully once we get one iPad in the classroom I can show people how the students are growing as learners to bring more into the classroom.
