My Students
My students are eager 4th graders who are excited to learn. I teach Language Arts to 46 4th grade students in Cumberland County, NJ. We are a Title I school. We live in the poorest county in NJ. Despite having the odds against them, my students have the hunger to learn. They come to school everyday ready to learn. My students are achieving at below grade level and above grade level. As their teacher, I want all of my students to be able to succeed.
My Project
My students are struggling with writing. Many of the students are reading and writing below grade level. If we had a document camera, I could display their writing, and we could edit it as a class. This way the students can see they aren't the only ones making those mistakes, and it will make them better writers. The document camera would also help display any documents that we are working on, and would allow me to model it with them. We also need Chromebooks to help out during centers. The students would be able to utilize language arts websites to increase their reading and writing ability.
