My students need a webcam and camcorder to participate in virtual field trips to explore the world being that we are not able to send them due to financial reasons.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Field trips are the highlight of a second graders school year. Due to having a very limited budget and our struggling economy, we have been unable to take a trip this school year.

The students in my classroom are from many different races, cultures, and economic backgrounds.

They are the products of the working class and are limited in experience with new and groundbreaking technology. Our school is a high poverty level elementary and lacks many of the necessary technologies to compete in the ever changing world.

My Project

Having a webcam and camcorder would greatly impact the learning of reading, math, science, and social studies through the use of virtaul field trips that directly correlate to the academic standards. The virtaul field trips open the classroom to the rest of the world by touring National monuments and the Great Wonders of the World. With your help, these children can explore the world without leaving our seats in the classroom!

We are not supported by any federal money but are still a high poverty school. I personnal try to me an advocate for my students and work diligently to provide needed items, however, technology is not something that I am able to afford to bring into their world.
