Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hungry to learn more about how to type and use technology to improve the stories/reports they are creating.
My students are in Washington Heights in a 3/4/5th grade self-contained special education classroom.
They all receive free lunch and many don't have technology in their homes. They are eager to learn and are fascinated with technology and using it as a way to help them learn. Many students have a difficult time with their handwriting and this would allow them to type their assignments. My ideal classroom would each have their own laptop but these laptops would allow for group work and the printer would allow them to print their work when it is complete.
My Project
The students will use the laptops during all academic subjects. Many of the curriculum's we are currently teaching are online. The students would be able to access more of the curriculum and learn more about technology. Many students struggle with typing and this would allow me to give them more practice with typing.
This project would help my classroom tremendously.
It will change my students lives by allowing them to include more technology into their learning! I look forward to more active learning and new adventures!
