Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Most of my students' native language is Spanish. This has a huge impact on their reading performance. My students are eager to learn, but they sometimes face challenges and get discouraged because of their reading ability, and language background.
I teach my students to have a growth mindset and to always believe in themselves.
They are hard workers, and are very enthusiastic about learning new things. My students love to work collaboratively, and have discussions based on the topic at hand. Not only do they learn from me, but they are always learning from each other!
I'm excited to see how I can push my students to grow this school year.
My Project
In my classroom, students must use the computer daily during reading and math, in an effort to help them become proficient in those subjects. My district requires that students are on I-Ready ( a reading and math program) for a specific amount of minutes each week based on their performance level.
Adding an additional computer to my classroom will make a world of a difference.
My class consists of students who are struggling in reading. By having another computer it will help make sure that more students have to opportunity to get extra practice in their reading and math skills.
