This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In my classroom, there isn't enough computers for my students to share. They are always eager to have a turn and when they do, excitement and joy is evident with every second. This computer will give the children the time to develop the computer skills needed for their future academic experiences.
My transitional kindergarten class consists of the younger kindergarten students.
Our school is located in a low economic area. 100% of the students are Title 1 and qualify for the Free Federal Breakfast and Lunch program. Most of my students come from families who do not speak English. My transitional kindergarten students are enthusiastic about learning and always try their best. I have seen their language, social and academic skills grow everyday. They have shown me that they have the potential to exceed all expectations
My Project
Allowing transitional students to have computer time can be beneficial because computer use introduces educational skills, increases self-esteem and self-confidence and prepares them to be 21 Century learners in a world driven by technology. I will assure they have access to online programs that offer opportunities to play with educational tools that will help them improve in their language and math skills as well create presentations and worksheets with Word to assure their learning is fun as well as easily accessible.
This computer will enable my students to experience the latest technology within our classroom.
They will be able to work on this tech independently or with a partner. I will be able to present lessons that are engaging to the students using our projector. We will be able to research and find images needed with a touch of a button when discussing stories, social studies and science concepts. This computer will revolutionize their perspective on learning as well as prepare them for the future.
