Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is mainly made up of ELL students. In addition to all the hard work these guys put in to mastering the English Language, my school is also the host school for children in the local homeless shelter and women's shelter.

Luckily for me, this diverse little class is full of hard working kids-regardless of their home circumstances!

We were together last year, and I loved them so much I begged my principal to let me "graduate" to 5th grade with them.

Although these children are at many disadvantages, I know that when they are successful, it will be even sweeter than their more advantaged counterparts.

My Project

My students have little to no access to technology in their homes. To prepare them for life in the 21st century, I am trying to get them tablets to use for various projects throughout the year! My students are from refugee families, immigrant families, and low income families. All students at my school qualify for free lunch and breakfast.

These tablets may seem small and insignificant, but to my class they will make a huge impact!

My class will use these to create videos, book reviews, research projects, and several other projects. The tablets will help these students learn about different apps and websites that they will need in middle school.
