My Students

My Students

My Kindergarten class is a group of highly diverse students at a K-5 public school in Hawaii.

We are a Title I school with a large English learner and socioeconomically disadvantaged student population. Sixty-five percent of our 800 students participate in the free and reduced-price lunch program.

My students marvel at the simplicity teachers offer to them every day. It is my goal to offer them more than simply to increase their skills within the classroom. My aim is to simultaneously light the fire that motivates them to succeed.

My Project

Technology offers such differentiated ways to help improve reading and math skills. These technological resources are noticed by these students but are not within reach. I would love to have this technology within reach to these students to use in the classrooms for reading, math, science, social studies, and more.

Due to the pandemic, the dynamics of classroom teaching are changing.

Our class will be learning using a blended model of in-class instruction and distance learning. To keep this process as seamless as possible, I will be utilizing our projector and online platforms in the classroom more often than in the past. Unfortunately, the current technology that exists in my classroom at the moment is not sufficient. An iPad would allow me to project onto the board and share my screen, model learning behaviors, and share student work.
