Mrs. Russell from AL is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students access to technology and the ability to learn and collaborate using digital tools! These tablets will allow my students to access school apps and websites for learning.

The students in my classroom are a diverse group of scholars that are eager and enthusiastic about learning!
My classroom serves 24 kindergarten students and several students from other kindergarten and first grade classrooms who have urgent and specialized learning needs.
Because I serve in a low-income/high poverty area, my students face many challenges in and out of my classroom. Many of them face learning and emotional disabilities daily.
A typical incoming kindergartner comes in with very little knowledge of early literacy skills. Many of them come in not knowing letters, sounds or numbers and require more support with basic phonics skills and number sense.
These tablets will make a huge difference in the classroom for my students! My students will be able to learn, explore, be innovative, and creative in different ways! These tablets will also allow me to differentiate the learning experiences for my students as well as planning fun and interactive lessons! One way I plan to use these devices is during our enrichment/intervention time. This is a time for us to help students who need some extra time on certain topics and introduce new topics to the students who are ready. By having these tablets, I will be able to have students working in programs such as Edgenuity, Moby Max, and DreamBox. These programs are adaptive to students and allow me to assign specific lessons to meet each students individual needs. While some students are engaged in activities on the tablets, I will be able to work with other students to provide the support that they need. The tablets will also be used to enhance whole group learning and collaborative group projects and activities.
