My Students
My students are a group of third grade boys from an urban area. My class is filled with students with different disabilities and lack of access to resources that can benefit them tremendously academically. Being from low-income households they often don't have the funds for basic necessities needed to succeed in school.
Coupled with their disabilities they require even more supplies and learning materials to reach the level of their general education peers.
Most of my kids do not have access technology at home, this means their only access to technology is in the classroom. Therefore, technology in the classroom can make all the difference in their education.
My Project
We need 12 Fire tablets to access programs that help in the further in Math, Reading, Writing, and Speech. Adding different ways to access the work will benefit my students tremendously. This is a goal for me as a teacher. I know that there are many different learners and learning styles in my classroom.
Students having Fire Tablets will help them access information previously not attainable.The tablets will help my students gain access to educational resources to help them better their skills in Literacy, Mathematics, and Speech.
Ultimately, unlocking their full potential.
Introducing these tablets are the first step into having my students find different modes reaching their full academic potential. Not only does it widen what they are able to learn but it keeps them interested and they can move at their own pace.
