This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"It's not about what it is; it is about what it can become," Dr. Seuss. I have the pleasure of working with outstanding children. They come to school prepared to learn and try their best every day. I teach in a Title I school with a high population of non-native English speakers. Our school is located in a low-income area, with most students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. I focus on the potential and growth of the children in my room. That growth is measured in student joy and love for learning, and their engagement in classroom activities!
My Project
My students need a Wonder Dash Robot to think creatively and design and engineer solutions to real-world problems! This is their opportunity to apply mathematics and science skills while collaborate with peers. The ipad is needed for the Dash Robot and can be used to access math apps that advance number sense.
My students need access to high tech materials like these to experience challenges and help them to become familiar with critical thinking and collaboration with newly learned math and science skills.
With 21st century jobs becoming more technical, I want to prepare my students for the jobs of the future by introducing these skills early! By helping to fund this project, donors will provide cutting edge resources to the first grade students!
