Technology for the Economics Classroom

My students need to have 2 flash memory devices, a netbook computer, and a mic and docking station.

My Students

My students are of the millennial generation raised on multimedia consumption, texting, and the Internet. This project provides the tools for economics to meet them where they are at.

Students attending our high school are as diverse as any high school in the United States.

Some of my students have parents who are college professors while other students have raised themselves. Students are very engaged in the day to day functioning of the school and the student government weighs in on policy decisions. That is why I am participating in the Chevron Classroom Challenge.

My Project

Funding this project would mean that students were engaged in a multimedia creating, digitally connected, and podcasting economics class. I would record class content using the microphone and upload it to our class website to allow students to review. The video camera would help facilitate the creation of an advertisement.

This project is important for making school more engaging for the students we serve.

It would allow students to review difficult materials at home and to be engaged in creating multimedia.
