My classroom is filled with eight eager students ready to learn. My student's curriculum focuses on their Individualized Education Program (IEP) which centers on life skills to help them transition to post-high school.
My students all have unique and different learning needs.
Many of our lessons are taught in the classroom and reinforced in the community. My resources are very limited, especially since my students are reading, writing and working on math at the K-4th grade level but are in high school. My students learn best through hands on lessons such as cooking, bus riding, job skills, using maps, reading and math.
My Project
Covid has made learning challenging yet fun as we move towards using more online platforms in our learning. Our current iPad in our classroom is outdated and we are unable to use many of the wonderful online programs. We were lucky enough to receive an osmo which provides interactive learning. But we have not had the chance to enjoy it due to an outdated iPad that cannot connect to our new device.
The iPads will help student access online programs for math and reading as well as communicate with teachers, classmates and parents.
