This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students range from Pre-K to fifth grade. We are a low income, elementary school. Our kids are active and love learning. The have lost a lot because of Hurricane Harvey and I am trying to make this year special. I want them to be excited to come to school. Art can be a great way to motivate kids to do better and learn new things. It can also be used to help heal what they have lost. With new art supplies, I can help them in all areas, like math and reading. They are so appreciative of everything they receive and would really love your support.

My Project

My students lost a lot during Harvey, luckily my school was spared. However, I am trying to make this year in art extra special. Not only have my students not had art in a long time, they have been through a lot this year. I am hoping with this extra special technology added to the art room, the students will be excited to visit my room. I want to create a fun place for them to feel safe and relax. With these computers and cricuts it will create a unique art experience for my students and give them a chance to express themselves in a new way. The computers will allow the students a chance to experience graphic design and assist when looking for reference images for art work. The computers will also be paired with the cricut a to allow the students the chance to create and produce there own designs for t shirts and art work.
